Carondelet Center

GENERAL INFORMATION & POLICIES

Carondelet Center (CC) is a host facility for conferences and retreats and is a ministry of hospitality and welcoming sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, St. Paul Province, and Consociates . CC welcomes external organizations/individuals not affiliated with the Sisters of St. Joseph to contract its facilities.

Room Scheduling: The Administrative Coordinator handles room scheduling. Priority is extended first to the CSJ Ministries, Community sponsored events, then to the CSJ Consociates and non-CSJ events/activities.

Reservations: Reservations are made in writing or by phone to the Administrative Coordinator. A signed agreement and room deposit confirm the reservation. Any specific requests beyond the room reservation (e.g. food service, lodging, equipment, etc.) should be made at the time of initial scheduling. Cancellations must be received by the Administrative Coordinator in writing or by phone at least thirty days in advance. The room deposit will be retained for any cancellation made fewer than thirty days before the event.

Food Service: All food and beverage served in Carondelet Center must be purchased from the Carondelet Center Food Service. For sanitary and safety reasons, no food or beverage may be brought in by the contract group.

Alcohol: Alcohol may be served but requires a certificate of insurance, which must be submitted at least one week before the event. This certificate may be purchased from the user’s insurance company as a one-time certificate for the Carondelet Center location. Licensed bartenders must be brought in because Carondelet Center is not licensed to serve alcohol.

Lodging: A limited number of rooms are available for overnight lodging. Reservations for these should be made at the time of the initial contact. Because these rooms are in high demand, cancellations for lodging, must be made at lease thirty days in advance of the event or be charged at the full rate.

Chapel: Carondelet Center guests are welcome to use Our Lady of the Presentation Chapel located in the connecting Provincial House. Please keep in mind this is part of the Sisters’ residence and to be quiet and respectful. Arrangements are made directly with the Center Director to have a group Mass offered in the Chapel.

Parking: Parking permits are required on all vehicles (temporary or permanent) and may be obtained from the receptionist inside the Carondelet Center entrance.

Smoking: Carondelet Center is a smoke free facility.

Candles: Candles are to be completely enclosed in glass containers and never left unattended. This includes all pillar, taper and votive candles.

Damage: Carondelet Center attempts to keep its rooms and equipment in clean and working condition. If damage is incurred during a group’s meeting, the user will be charged the cost of repairing or replacing damaged property. Please report any damage to the CC staff immediately. Rooms must be left in an orderly and clean condition. Carondelet Center is not responsible for the property of the leaser or of its members.

Storage: Carondelet Center does not have storage space available for outside groups using the facilities. Any miscellaneous items used for decorations, personal displays, etc. must be removed at the end of the event.
